Self steering axles stop the dragging through a bend, instead it steers itself along the same path as the unit. This considerably helps reduce the scrub forces which reduces wear and tear on the chassis but also helps to reduce tyre wear.
Sliding suspension when others said it couldn’t be done Holmwood Highgate set about to show how it could be done. Like most projects the customer had a problem with a concept in mind, Holmwood came up with the solution. After twelve months operating out in the field the operators are saying it’s the “ants pants”.
With the overall length of the lead tanker shortened by a sliding suspension it makes the tanker suitable for those tight deliveries.
